Do you want a world with
- freedom from discrimination and freedom to be who you are as an individual
- more recover and fewer arrests
- more participation in democracy, not less
- the inaccessible made not just accessible, but accepting and welcoming
- people who possess power giving that power to those who need it and know best how to use it
Then support Disability Rights Washington with whatever size donation you can make right now as you are reading this. My co-workers and I work everyday to turn these ideals into a reality.
As the world has gotten coarser and more isolating, we have continued our work - BUT not in any sort of business as usual sort of way. With the global pandemic, rampant racism, and our land, towns, and lungs on fire, we push on advocating in new ways.
Our fundraising is taking a new form as well. We are going digital this year. No no hor d'oeuvres, no small talk, no connecting on a personal level the way we have enjoyed in years past. But you still have an opportunity to support what you believe in and I hope that includes Disability Rights Washington. the people and communities we serve, and the transformative change necessary to advance the civil and human rights of people with disabilities.
Right now is a tough time in many households so I know not everyone can give as much as they want, but I ask that you give as much as you can. Please consider a $5 donation, I know for some that may even be a stretch right now and I get that so only if you can. And if right now you are privileged enough to comfortably be able to give more, that is appreciated as well. To each of you, thank you for your contribution.
